I like this fungi! I'm not sure what kind it is, though.

And one more.

I don't know what kind of mushroom this is, but it looked so pretty under the ferns.

 

This tree must have some kind of disease, which is unfortunate. But I liked the knobs anyway.

Nothing special about this rock. I just liked it, so I took its picture.

This came out very dark, but this little stream was so cold, it was as if the air above it was air-conditioned.

 

Annie was thirsty and found a natural water bowl.

 

As we were leaving the upper loop of the trail, we heard a rumble that sounded like thunder. It built up and suddenly there was very loud crack and an earth-shaking thud. We don't know if an entire tree fell or just a branch, but the sound really drove home the size of these trees.
