September 29 was my actual birthday. I managed to get into some of these pictures. <grin> Note the smile. I smiled like that from the time we left Atlanta until the time we left New Orleans on Monday. What a great time we had!

On our way to brunch Sunday morning, we drove around a bit. I'm not sure if this was Uptown or the Garden District, but this was a pretty cool New Orleans house.

This is Anne Rice's house. If you've read any of the Mayfair Witches books, you may recognize the house.

This is Anne Rice's fence. See the skulls? Very cool.

This fence is at the Favrot house. It's a cornstalk fence, which I believe is unique to New Orleans architecture.

To start off my birthday, we went to a jazz brunch at Commander's Palace, a fabulous restaurant. Here are Diane and Lisa enjoying a Mimosa and a Sazerac. (The Bloody Mary is mine.)

There I am! See, I told you I was there.

Our waiter was nice enough to take this picture of all three of us.

Diane, Lisa, and I on the patio after brunch.

After brunch, we headed back to the French Quarter for some Pride celebrations.

The Bourbon Pub was tops in our book for many reasons. When you're in town, be sure to check it out! The gray building on the left (also seen in the picture above) is our hotel, the Bourbon Orleans.

I'm pretty sure there's a law that says you have to go to Pat O'Brien's when you go to New Orleans. Here's Lisa drinking the obligatory Hurricane while Diane tries to control her disgust. <grin>

This was truly the most wonderful birthday I've ever had, and there was lots more that didn't get captured with the camera. I laughed and smiled until my face hurt, all weekend long. What a great way to kick off my 40's! Diane and Lisa, I thank you both for so many wonderful memories.
